Abstract
Many Muslim communities in Wainin Village, North Sanana District, Sula Islands Regency, still experience difficulties in understanding Islamic inheritance law. This condition often leads to family conflicts and unjust distribution of property, as people tend to follow local traditions that are not always in accordance with Islamic principles. In fact, Islamic inheritance law has been formally recognized within the national legal system through Law Number 7 of 1989 and its amendment, Law Number 3 of 2006, which provide a legal basis for the settlement of inheritance disputes through the Religious Courts. Observations indicate a low level of understanding regarding who is entitled to be an heir, how inheritance shares are determined, and the respective rights and obligations of each heir. As a result, unequal distribution and the neglect of the rights of daughters or certain relatives frequently occur. To address these issues, STAI Babussalam Sula conducted a socialization program on Islamic inheritance law as part of its community service activities. The program included preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages through material presentations, interactive discussions, practical inheritance calculations, and deliberation. The positive outcomes of the program include improved understanding of Islamic inheritance law, increased awareness of rights and obligations, enhanced practical skills in inheritance calculation, encouragement of dispute resolution through deliberation, correction of misconceptions, and the provision of a reference for developing sustainable community service programs aligned with real community needs.
